European Games Award 2012 – Results

August 15th, 2012 by

Another year has passed and the European Games Award has once again been held, to recognise the people’s choices for this year.

Held in Cologne, Germany last night, over 400 titles were put forward with the jury whittling the list down to the top 100. It was then up to the public to vote for their category winner, with nearly a quarter of a million votes being cast.

The winners of each category were rewarded their European Games Award on-stage from Karl Magnus of DICE, Victor Kislyi of Wargaming.net (who’s team also picked up an award for Europe’s Most Wanted Online Game), and many more.

The biggest winners of the night was Developer CD Projekt RED, for The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings, which romped home with half a dozen awards including best Art Direction, best Character Design, best Gameworld,  Best Game Design, Best Special Edition and Best European Game.

EA Dice also won four awards for Battlefield 3, holding off the competition to receive Best Action Game, Best Multiplayer Game, Best Sound and Best Console Game.
